Oprah's Fully Loaded Giveaway (washingtonpost.com)

I remember (when I used to watch oprah) that I always always wanted to be on the Christmas show, where she goes through all the hot new christmas gifts for the year becuase the studio audience got one of nearly everything she pimped on that show.

And I mean they got some good shit, too.

And now it's cars. Where was she 3 years ago when I was puttering around in my beat up ole Ford Escort?!

I love this quote: '"I'm so excited about today's season premiere my heart is palpitating!"'

Yes, Oprah. Your heart is palpitating. That's what it does. It palpitates. If it weren't palpitating, quite frankly, you'd be dead.

Wellllll, don't get *too* worked up. Palpitation isn't necessarily good if interpreted literally. Defined as: To beat rapidly and more strongly than usual; to throb; to bound with emotion or exertion; to pulsate violently; to flutter; -- said specifically of the heart when its action is abnormal, as from excitement.

Those of us with medical inclinations call that "arrythmia" and/or "tachycardia" :-D

Helllloooo! Do you know the strange thing about the Oprah giveaway? It wasn't really "her" giveaway. The car manufacturers donated the cars. The money didn't come out of Oprah's multi-million dollar purse. Ahhhh the charity of it all, or should I say, "P.R." of it all. lol. Either way, still some very happy audience members cruising on the east side. lol

o2giver: I thought of that...Oprah had to basically pimp the car and company for 30 mins on her show for them to donate all those cars.

Is it me or is her show two steps away from becoming an infomercial?
