Hey Hawkie,

I was wondering...since you know alot about herbal remedies and such...what would one do if one wanted to start ones period.
See...mine is missing. I skipped a month...I DO NOT skip periods. Very weird...not preggers though...checked that out. Old man is fixed like a good puppy:P
So what do you think?

What? You WANT your period?

I actually used to know the answer to this, but I can't remember the herb that does the trick.

There are several herbs for you to chose from. I can not recommend them to you without first saying, Nutrition and Lifestyle are key. Analyze your diet first and see if you are missing vitamins or minerals. Are you getting enough water?
Are you getting enough fiber?

That being asked, the answer to your question is:

Vitex
Black Cohosh
Dong Quai
Raspberry Leaf Tea (not the berry, the leaf.)
Wild Yam Root

All are good as tonics for the female reproductive system.

All can be bought at the natural healthfood store.

Get about one-fourth cup of each herb.

Boil 2 cups of water

Remove from heat

Take a teaspoon of each herb and put it in the hot water

Let it steep (soak) for 10-15 minutes

Strain the herbs from the Tea, making sure to press them to release all the excess water and medicinal qualities from them.

Then dump the herbs back into the tea, and press/strain again.

Hold your nose.
Drink it in 1/2 cup doses.

Most of those are bitter, you may want to include a little bit of stevia with it. Stevia is preferable to honey or sugar and is also a plant.

Also, some people have allergic reactions. Be aware of how your body reacts to things.

Le me know if you have any other questions.

As someone who's had her period for a length of 6 months before, be thankful that you've skipped rather than bled for 6 months!!!!

Xinh,

I completely empathize with that. In fact, that same problem (continual bleeding) is what prompted me to learn about herbs and nutrition.

I look at it and say, ' amonth?!!' i'd be happy to skip.

But I wouldn't be happy if I was regular. I'd be worried that something was strange or wierd.

My first thought was to tell her to wait another month and see if her body works it out. I'd rather her find the info from me, than having to dig through all the places I've dug trying to find out more info.

That in itself is frustrating. Sorry to talk about you like your not even looking Freaky.... i don't mean it badly....

Anyhow, I was going to add that you can add those same herbs to 2 cups of wine on the first day of the lunar cycle, shake the bottle every now and then, and when the moon is full, it will be ready to use.

Not moon madness. Farmers plant and reap by the moon. They have found over the thousands of years of farming that it makes a difference in the potency.

I could ramble forever about herbs and such.

"the first day of the lunar cycle"

By this do you mean start on the day of the full moon or like the day after? New moon? I've never really had anyone tell me what the start of the lunar cycle is.
