Will work for food.

"Are we negotiating?"
"Always."

Wonder who will get that quote.

Apparently, I can be bribed with food. I find it amusing.

Tuesday, Christina (my manager) says, "Linda, I will give you 5 dollars if you will rub my back and shoulders. They are killing me." I would have done it for free, but I'm not a fool. That's money she's offering. That's money, I'm taking.

Then she takes it one step further. "No, even better, I will buy your chipotle if you will rub my back and shoulders."

I begin to see that part of the art of negotiation is silence and waiting. Must remember.

Then, yesterday, Christina wanted me to stay an hour longer than usual.

"Christina, I don't think you realize, that I am going to leave on time because I have the world worst craving for peaches right now, and it simply will not wait an extra hour."

"Linda, I really need your help for that extra hour. I will go and buy you a peach if you will stay."

I ponder this power I have. I get paid, and she will buy my food?

"Just so you know Christina, if 3:00pm gets here and I am peachless, that means that I leave. No peach is a dealbreaker."

Calima mentioned fruit to me yesterday, and I've been on a full tilt fruit kick. I think I'll go to Krogers later and load up at the salad bar on mixed fruit. It is in season at the moment, and there's just nothing better than fruit that is in season.

Apparently, I am resident mother and doctor at work. Accidents happen all the time. It's just part of this job. A girl shut her drawer and somehow managed to get some sort of cut under her finger nail which was bleeding pretty badly.

I took charge, cleaned it, saw she had ice on it, and had her keep it elevated. All the while having her tell me how she did it. I wasn't there when it happened, and the way it was bleeding, I didn't know if we were gonna end up with stitches. It makes me miss the ambulance riding days, but not really. When they restocked the first aid kit. They made sure to tell me.
ha.

The new manager is trying to get me to stay, and the new District Manager/VP of operations is trying to get me to stay, and I feel like saying. "emmm. this is Wendy's. You don't really have a bargainning tool."

But it's flattering nonetheless.

I really should get things going, I have a lot to do.
