well wait for it
i'll be back on sept 7th
moving and such
i tried, i succeeded, then i tried to change it by adding a few things and then it told me to fuck off. so fuck it. i've rebuilt a million times to not see my breaks and colons put in. so fuck the side bar for a while.
"Are we negotiating?"
"Always."
Wonder who will get that quote.
Apparently, I can be bribed with food. I find it amusing.
Tuesday, Christina (my manager) says, "Linda, I will give you 5 dollars if you will rub my back and shoulders. They are killing me." I would have done it for free, but I'm not a fool. That's money she's offering. That's money, I'm taking.
Then she takes it one step further. "No, even better, I will buy your chipotle if you will rub my back and shoulders."
I begin to see that part of the art of negotiation is silence and waiting. Must remember.
Then, yesterday, Christina wanted me to stay an hour longer than usual.
"Christina, I don't think you realize, that I am going to leave on time because I have the world worst craving for peaches right now, and it simply will not wait an extra hour."
"Linda, I really need your help for that extra hour. I will go and buy you a peach if you will stay."
I ponder this power I have. I get paid, and she will buy my food?
"Just so you know Christina, if 3:00pm gets here and I am peachless, that means that I leave. No peach is a dealbreaker."
Calima mentioned fruit to me yesterday, and I've been on a full tilt fruit kick. I think I'll go to Krogers later and load up at the salad bar on mixed fruit. It is in season at the moment, and there's just nothing better than fruit that is in season.
Apparently, I am resident mother and doctor at work. Accidents happen all the time. It's just part of this job. A girl shut her drawer and somehow managed to get some sort of cut under her finger nail which was bleeding pretty badly.
I took charge, cleaned it, saw she had ice on it, and had her keep it elevated. All the while having her tell me how she did it. I wasn't there when it happened, and the way it was bleeding, I didn't know if we were gonna end up with stitches. It makes me miss the ambulance riding days, but not really. When they restocked the first aid kit. They made sure to tell me.
ha.
The new manager is trying to get me to stay, and the new District Manager/VP of operations is trying to get me to stay, and I feel like saying. "emmm. this is Wendy's. You don't really have a bargainning tool."
But it's flattering nonetheless.
I really should get things going, I have a lot to do.
If you haven't taken a look, you can check out my 26 things gallery.
I know the title sounds promising.... but they only quiver for going to the driving range 2 days in a row. Tuesday and Wednesday. Tiffany and I hit about 450 balls between the two of us.
All this talk about quivering and balls.
Anyways. John is playing a new game that is based on Star wars, so he keeps running into these characters who speak babble to him. It makes me want to shoot the monitor.
I have tomorrow off. I don't know what the hell I'm doing.
Shower first then sleep... then we'll see.
Tiffany and I went to the golf driving range tonight. We enjoyed it immensely. At first we were real timid and embarrassed because we knew that our posture/game/style/knowlege about golf was nill and crap. But we were determined to try anyways. After playing caddy and taking very shabby hits at some golf balls in St Louis, and be lightly patronized about ladies ability to hit balls, we were determined to show them.
We didn't really get the groove until we had already hit about 10 balls a piece and we started using it as therapy.
This is for saying you'd call and didn't.
*WHACK*
This is for making me put away a 204 piece truck by myself.
*WHACK*
This is for this

This is for that

We got some distance then. Tiffany averaged about 150-160 yards, and I was right happy with my 100 yard average. Compared to the pathetic tumbling of the prior week.
Rock right on.
Kings Island was a blast yesterday. Walked all over, all day. With cramps and AF. Pamprin sucks. It doesn't really do the trick.
Its still up in the air about going to ST Louis this weekend.
If we do, then we do.
If we don't, then we dont.
So be it.
I went to Columbus today. I had a few things to leave and organize there. I also had a few photos to take of Maria who is just about ready to deliver her baby boy. She's been sitting at 1cm dialated for a month and We've been unable to get together until today. So, I had her outside barefoot in front of the trees with a flower wreath. I let her wear my white hippie dress. I think they'll be nice pictures. It's for the calendar I'm doing for the hippie organization.
I had a great time in St Louis. Made a couple friends there and learned how to gamble. If it hadn't been so late, I wouldn't have thrown in my hand on a 2 of clubs and 6 of spades. I would have won. There *will* be a next time.
I have had an odd craving for rootbeer lately. Weird. It just tastes good to me on some days. Other days I end up spitting it out and drinking water. Still no diet coke in almost 3 months.
AF is here with a vengeance, sending me to the store at 11pm for various items, most importantly pain reliever and chocolate silk soy milk. I have a date with a heating pad tonight, and everything should be just fine.
Tomorrow, I am to go to Kings Island with Tracy. She won free tickets. I am so excited as now my ass will fit into the seats and the seat belts will fit!
People who spam my old entries with comments about how to get help with erections, or further their little sex website will be deleted and their IP banned and shared with the fellow H-C-netters who will most likely ban you as well. Do yourself a favor. Move on.
Next retreat is at the beginning of September. I'm supposed to visit my father before the end of August, and I'm in the throes of moving. So, you can imagine the turmoil here.
Where was I?
Right.
Heating pad, Chocolate, pain reliever.
ciao
Toes, that is.
Apparently, I am very clumsy and I stubbed the hell outta my big toe, bloody and everything. And walking on it only seems to make it bleed again because the cut is right at the corner of the nail, so effectively, my nail keeps cutting it back open. Wearing closed toe shoes is a bitch.
I have 8 more toes.
Bring it :p
In learning about my digital camera that was going through so many batteries I was beginning to think it was not worth the while, I find that there are two ways to turn it on. One, remove the lens cover. Two, turn on the camera because openning the lens cover doesn't always turn it on. Strange, but I seem to be holding on very well to this set of batteries. Live and learn.
Tiffany picks me up from work on Friday just as I was about to tear all my hair out. We were on the road within 45 mins. We were in St Louis by 10 pm. Tiffany has a lead foot. Tiffany was going to spend the weekend with her x boyfriend... (the one that they still care about each other, but they moved too fast and he got all freaked out and broke up. i'd have enough material for a soap opera character with all the twists turns and dives they've taken.) But it was supposed to be just us going out and having fun.
It turned out well enough. No complaints as Johnny had lots of friends and we had a great time playing poker, barbequeing, and putzing around an 18 hole golf course, whacking a few balls(which was more fun than i thought it would be. I laughed at myself every time that I noticed I was doing that wiggle that golf players do because I always thought it looked funny), going to see the Arch, and getting sunburnt.
I got to meet Prism for the first time at her lovely camp on Saturday. We made it down there after a delay where I was totally freaked out that I was going to get to the camp and miss her. But Nope she was there! We went to the Pizza Hut Taco bell place and had a fun lunch, and went back to her camp and played putt putt.... and then the heat moved in. So we stopped for slushis. I gave Prism her 15 dollahs because I lost a bet. We had a fun time. I wish that I'd have had more time to spend with her, but maybe next time.
So, now I'm soaking my foot and thinking about hummus and uploading some stuff for the 26 things.
