Happy New Year!
Can't believe that 2006 is just around the corner. I've nothing planned in the way of celebration yet but I'm sure I'll think of something. I'm not really into the bar scene... maybe just a quiet celebration with a bottle of fine wine and a few friends. I've decided on a New Year resolution although I'm not willing to say what it might be. I need to set it firm in my own mind first before announcing it to the online world. It centers on some aspect of self-improvement though.
Right now I'm waiting for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law to arrive. They'll be here for a few days along with my two nephews. "George" has been away at the U of Minnesota since September so I'm anxious to see how much he's changed his conservative views since starting college. (chuckle) "Tommy" the musician in the family has started with a band. He's one very talented young man. Plays the piano, guitar and can sing circles around some of those artists you hear on the top 40. I wish him much success.
Well here's wishing all my online friends a very Happy New Year! May all your dreams and wishes come true!

It's the Holiday Season
Well the holidays are just around the corner. I think there's way to much emphasis made now days on the material and not so much on the spiritual. To many iPods and notebooks. Not enough advent wreaths and church. I'm not a religious zealot by any means, but even I can see the spiritual breakdown within families during this time. It's all about the gifts baby, not about the Christ child. With that said, I'll get off my high horse. I have not yet begun to shop. Nothing like the fine art of procrastination.
