bitch, bitch, bitch

lol Would it sound like I was bitching about the weather (yet again) if I told you I just survived camping through the hottest weekend on record? Seriously! 102F in the shade! The one saving grace was the beautiful lake the park was on. Thank the gods! I pretty much spent the entire weekend up to my neck in the cool, clear water only venturing out to eat and sleep (and yes use the bathroom... I don't pee in the lake... yuck!) The heat made setting up and breaking down camp very uncomfortable. I've become much more appreciative of central air. The constant 78F my thermostat is set at felt like the deep freeze when I got home on Sunday. I've since adjusted.

Went to breakfast with the gals from work this morning. Good times! What a great group to work with! Very funny! Lots of laughs! We all agreed summer is much to short. We are all of the mind that the school year should start after Christmas holiday and last until end of May but we should be paid full wages from beginning of September until mid June. Ummmmm wonder if the district would see it our way... I seriously doubt it.

Speaking of work... discovered I have to take a 4 day workshop in adult/student communication/relationships dubbed 'TRIBES' in August. Granted I'll get paid to sit there and the extra money will be a bonus but what a bunch of bs! It doesn't apply to my job as a food service cashier so why waste my time. Wish I could think of a good excuse to get out of it. Anybody got any ideas? lol

Summer Daze

Well summer is here with a vengeance. Today it was in the 90's with enough humidity you could slice it with a knife. I didn't really mind it as I spent the entire afternoon floating in the pool. The water was refreshing to say the least.

My niece sitting job is finally over so the rest of the summer is my own. I didn't really mind it though. Megan (my niece) is such a sweetheart. I don't recall 5 year olds being that smart. She's knows her way around a computer which is totally scary and has mastered the art of Ms Pac Man on the X-box of all things! She's into bugs of all kinds (a future entomologist perhaps) but enjoys the many species of plants in her backyard as well.

I'm finally going to get out camping this summer for the first time. Leaving Thursday for a little lake up near Manistique, MI. Mom and Dad, my sister and her family and us all camping together at the lake. Sweet! As usual the weather is suppose to be hotter then the devil's own oven. Why does it always get so damn hot when I decide to go camping? It happens every year. *shakes head* Oh well at least there's a lake to head to for some relief. It won't help with the sleeping at night but hey who needs sleep right? I just hope the biting flies and mosquitos aren't to bad. It would suck if we had to be inside a screen tent all day to keep from being eaten alive.
Can't believe summer is almost half over. I better get out and make the most of it while I can.
