And So It Begins...

1 down 179 to go. My first day back was thankfully uneventful. The computer worked, the money balanced and I got most of my paper work completed. There is a god! lol Although I had already worked an extra 3 hours longer than my normal shift, I got a phone call from my supervisor asking me if I'd help a co-worker log the days entries into her computer as it blew it's hard drive and was down most of the day. Lucky for her they have spare hard drives in abundance so she was back up and running by late this afternoon. Between the two of us we had all the missing entries ( and we're talking mucho entries) logged and ready to run in less than two hours. Damn we're good! We'll see what happens tomorrow. After all it's not just a job, it's an adventure. lol

Doomed

School starts tomorrow and that means it's back to work for me. I'm bummed. I wish I could work from November through June and still have my same pay scale. Wishful thinking I know. *sigh*
The High School my daughter attends f*cked up her senior year schedule something major! They scheduled her for both a psychology class and a study hall first hour. Don't know how she's going to be in both places at once. *shrugs* She also dropped an AP language arts class and added two additional classes but the AP class still shows up on her schedule and the additional classes she added don't. I'm not sure what's up with that. Me being the anal planner that I am (I'm such a frickin micro manager. lol) wants to have it all straightened away before classes start tomorrow but I know that's not going to happen with today being a holiday. Guess I'll have to let her deal with it herself. I hate loose ends!
I baby sat for my 5 year old niece last night. Although I put her to bed at 7pm she didn't fall asleep until nearly 9:15pm. She was like the energizer rabbit... she kept going and going and going... I finally convinced her that if she didn't close her eyes and hold perfectly still the "sleep fairy" wasn't going to pay her a visit and sprinkle her with magic sleeping dust. I'm so creative. I knew if she closed her eyes and stopped wiggling for 2 minutes she'd be out like a light. It worked. I'll have to save that one for future visits.
I'm seriously thinking of buying a second musical instrument. A piccolo to be precise. I'm not sure why but I want one. They're expensive and I don't know how often I would use it but I want one none the less. I've tried several for their tonal qualities and have priced a variety of brands. I've given myself a 2 month waiting period to see if I still want one in a few months. Sometimes you just have to give in to frivolous spending don't you think? lol I'll keep you posted.
