Time in A Bottle
Yes it's been a long time and it just occurred to me looking at the title you may be thinking "huh"? No, I'm not an alcoholic... I just enjoy 'social' drinking. *grins*
I've been an "empty nester" this past year and it's been great! Don't get me wrong it's nice to have my kids around but somehow when my daughter started attending college (or university as my UK acquaintances call it) I wasn't all that teary eyed over it. It's nice to run on your own schedule and not have anyone else's to consider. My son had moved to the big city of Chicago for a brief period and then back (but not home thank goodness). lol He's off 'livin la vida loca' in an apartment across town... sweet!
The hubby and I celebrated 25 years of marriage in May. The first 25 were a piece of cake... yea right. lol Marriage is lots of frickin hard work. It's sure not for the weak of heart! Now if I could only get him trained to take his shoes off at the door...
I've been reading... alot! Not just a few books here and there but huge amounts. We're talking a book every 1.5 days. Most days I read for 10 hours or more (Steve, my message therapist, keeps telling me this is bad). You do the math. That's a sh*tload of books! Not sure why I've gone on this reading binge but I'm really enjoying it. Now you might think "boy her arse must be big! Why doesn't she find a hobby that isn't quite so sedentary". Did I mention my shiny black MP3 player allows me to download books off the net? I still prefer the written word but listening to them on an MP3 player as I walk my 2 miles isn't bad either. Rock on!
So my 30 year high school reunion (that's class of '78) is coming up in 2 weeks. Scary! I know some of you who are reading this might not have even been born then. Again... scary. I can't say I'm looking forward to it all that much but what the hell. It's kind of fun seeing how everyone has changed throughout the years. I've found a new circle of friends since leaving high school. I didn't keep in touch with those 'friends' I had in high school but I'm curious to know what they've been doing in life. I hope they'll be there. We'll get together, compare stories, share old memories, etc., etc. A good time will be had by all aye?
Well this about sums things up for now. I know, I know you're probably thinking "it's been nearly a year since she's last blogged! You mean that's it?!" Hey deal with it! I've got to go start a new book and this blogging business cuts into some serious reading time! lol Until next year (just kidding... maybe) live happy, be safe!
